Red Lentil Curry

Hello beautiful people.
I had many reactions about my post on being pescetarian and mostly people were very interested in that topic. This is why I wanted to share some recipes with you. Today I decided to give you one of my absolute favorite vgetarian recipes and the best thing is that it is even vegan. So without further ado here is the recipe:

You will need:
375g red lentils
3/4 l vegetable broth
1 1/2 bu scallions
3 red peppers
2 carottes
1 1/2 tb vegetable oil
3 tb curry powder
1/2 dried chillies
pepper, salt

Cook the lentils in the vegetable broth for 5 minutes.
While it is cooking, cut the scallions into small rings.
After that you cut the carotts and the peppers into very small cubes.
Then you roast the vegetables in hot oil for about 2 minutes.
Flavour the mix with some curry powder.
Afterwards you give the lentils with the broth to the vegetables.
Now you just have to flavour it with the chillies and salt and pepper and you are done.

I really hope you like this post/recipe. Be sure to tell me if you try it, I would really like to hear your thoughts on it.

I will talk to you soon

Do more of what makes you happy (2)

Hello you beautiful people,
as I mentioned in my first post of this row I want to post about what makes different people happy once a month. Today I will write down the list I got from my mum, after I had asked her to list down the top 10 things that make her happy. I hope you enjoy reading. Talk to you at the end of this post.

1. Health - It makes me happy that my family is healthy

2. Flowers - Flowers make me happy. It makes me happy to buy new flowers on a friday morning, put them in a vase and then on the table. Whenever I buy flowers I simlply feel happy.

3. When you (and by this she ment me) play guitar and sing - For me this is a sign that you are happy and this makes me happy. I don't know it brings some kind of harmony into our house like everything is just right at that moment.

4. Sunshine - When I wake up and the sun is shining I am already happy.

5. Going Nordic Walking - You hear the birds sing and feel the sun shining.

6. A great song on the radio - I love singing along with the radio especially when one of my favourite songs is playing.

7. Cooking together

8. Talks after the meal - I like when we sit around the table after dinner and talk about random things.

9. Doing things myself - I like things like crafting, sewing anything like that. A few weeks ago I painted a bedside table and I was very proud about the outcome.

10. When the plants in the garden start to grow - obviously I like nature and flowers so it makes me very happy when the flowers in my garden start to grow and I can see them everyday.

I post this lists every month and I would love to get you involved in it.
So if you want me to publish ten things that make you happy or that make you smile then send me an E-mail: nonomue6@gmail.com

I really hoped you like this post.
I will talk to you next week

Smiling challenge (1)

Hello you beautiful people,
today I wanted to talk about smiling. A smile is one of the most simple things you can do to make others happy and feel good about themselves.
We all know that feeling when other people smile at us. And that doesn't have to be the biggest smile but just a small and simple smile. It makes us feel good. We know this person is happy.

Here are a few situations:
You go to school or work in the morning and you are all grumpy because you are not amorning person. Then you go into the building and one of your friends sees you and smiles at you. At that moment you smile back and you know this person is happy that you are there.

A different example:
You are walking down the street and there is another person walking towards you. While the other person is pssing you look at each other and smile. Personally I can never stop smiling after that for a while because I always think how nice some people are. They don't look at me disgusted or anything. Also it is a nice sign to show you notice the other person.

A few times now I've read that if you fake a smile for some time it will turn into a real smile. Like, if you smile at yourself in the mirror for some minutes for no reason then you keep smiling afterwards even though you are not looking into the mirror anymore.

I want to challenge myself and I call it the "Smiling challenge". What I want to try is to smile as much as I can everyday. When I am in school I'll try to remember how happy I can be to go to school. When I am out with my friends I'll try to remember how lucky I am to have such good friends. When I am doing simply anything I'll try to remember how happy I can be about my life and how much I love every little thing about it.

I want you to do the same. Take this challenge and try to smile as much as you can. Be happy about your life and how everything is going. Smile at others and they'll smile back.
Believe me a simple smile from everybody can change a lot.

I'm going to keep you updated on the results of this challenge and if you take this challenge then be sure to keep me updated in the comments.

Talk to you soon

Life as a vegetarian (1)

Hello everyone,
by reading the title I think many people are a little confused because they have never heard of the word pescetarianism. Let me give you some information about it.
First of all I think many of you know what a vegetarian is. It is when you don't eat any meat or fish or just in general: animals.
Also very popular is veganism. This is when you don't eat anything coming from an animal, wether it is milk or eggs. Some of them don't wear leather or stuff like that.
There are many differeces between the groups and as I would say there is also some kind of pre-stage before the vegetarians. This is pescetarianism. And that is what I am. (Or what I'm trying to be)

For a very long time now I have wanted to be a vegetarian. I didn't like how the animals were killed for us just so we could eat them. My parents didn't like it either and we decided that we would only meat where we knew the animals had a relativly good life and hadn't been held with many others in a small cage.
A few years ago my mum became a pescetarian out of some private reasons. Me and my dad were eating less meat and I thought this would be a good compromise. But even though I was only eating meat about two times a month I didn't feel like it was enough.
When I was much younger I had promised myself that I could eat beef, chicken and pork because I had always eaten it but I never wanted to eat any other meat wether it was veal, roast duck or simply anything else.
At the end of last November my mum and I went to a takeaway and wanted to buy Döner (the germans of you probably know it) But then the cashier asked wether I wanted it with chicken or with veal. I was extremely confused because I knew I never ate my Döner with chicken but I simply couldn't believe I had eaten veal all the time...
This evening I told my parents I wanted to be a pescetarian. It is not that I love fish or anything. But I heard about many people that got problems because they didn't eat fish and weren't able to get the nutrients from the other stuff they ate.
Actually that Döner wasn't the last time I ate meat because the next day I went out with some friends and ate chicken simply because I forgot about the pescetarian thing in that moment.

I am proud to say that I haven't eaten any animals beside fish until now and I for sure don't want to start again any time soon.

So what are your experiences?
Have you ever tried to live without meat?
Are you a vegetarian, pescetarian or whatever?

I really hope I made you think about what you eat. Give this a like if you want to read more about vegetarianism or pescetarianism. I was also planning on uploading some healthy no meat recipies.

Looking forward to discussing this topic with you in the comments,

Norina xx

Bullying (1)

Hey boys and girls,
I am so so sorry I hadn't had time to write and this post is so late. I had so much schoolwork to do, which was very important. I hope this post is ok for you and I also really hope that I will have time to post another blogpost this week (probably Friday or something).

Today I wanted to talk about a very serious topic (most of the topics on this blog are serious but whatever). As you can see by the title I want to talk about the big problem of bullying.

I know that many people get bullied wether it hurts them or the don't realize it.
But most of the people are hurt by their bullies wether it's mentally or physically. It doesn't matter how people bully others bur they have to realize that it is wrong.

Many of you prrobably know how if feels when others like to show off their hate towards you. When this happened to me I was extremely sad because I never thought someone could be this mean. I was deeply hurt, especially because this person acted like a friend before. Before the bullying I was very open and there was no sign of me being shy. But while I got bullied I started to become more careful and only talked to a few people I thought I could really trust. I think this is what really helped me. Even though I got bullied by these three girls I had some friends that were always by my side. There have also been my parents who realized that something was wrong.
I can happily say that the girls realized that they crossed the borders and they stopped bullying me. Nevertheless they never stopped hating me.

I was never hurt physically but people that have known me for a long time actually see how I changed.

This is my experience with bullying. This time was a really important part of my life so I want to do a series about bullying.
Hopefully we can all agree that this world sometimes just needs a little more love. When can we finally realize that it doesn't matter if you are from another country, homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, tall, skinny, short or you have a little more weight.
Why do these things matter so much in todays society?

Guys, I really hope you liked to read my story about bullying and that you want to read more about this topic.

I will hopefully have time to upload something very soon,

Norina xx
