Great refreshing drinks for summer

Hello beautiful people,
since the weather in Germany is finally indicating that it is summer, I realized that I changed my drinking habits. Beause of this I thought that I would share my three favourite things to drink during summer with you today. All of these drinks are more on the healthy side I would say. Also they are very simple to make since there aren't that many ingridients you will need. I will only list kind of drinks, so that you can change them which ever way you like. Okay, so now here are my three favourite kind of drinks for the summer.

(Ice)tea

This year is probably the year I drank the most tea ever. I've already drank tea all winter, but since it got hotter I didn't want to drink warm drinks. That's where I put a little twist on drinking tea.
Most teas also taste good after you let them cool for a while and that's simply what I do. Making tea is extremely easy and I believe that all of you can do this.
You could also buy special icetea. Most of them you just have to take a bag and put it into a glass with cold water.
One great thing thaat you can do to all of these drinks here is that you can take some icecubes, so that your drink will be even more cool and refreshing.

Smoothies

Okay so for all you fruit lovers I have a great drink for the summer. I know smoothies are nothing new, but they are simple and I really like them. When I drink smoothies I often don't buy extra fruits for it. We mostly have some kind of fruits at home so I'm just going to use whatever is already in the fridge. If you want a real summer feeling with you fruits then I would suggest to use fruits like pineapples or some coconutjuice. These flavors will make your smoothie taste really delicious as well as summery. I don't know if summery is a word but I think you know what I mean, don't you?
Even though smoothies can be really good I want to remind you that the contain a lot of calories and are more like a meal than an actual refresher. Of course smoothies are healthy, but if you want to loose weight or your goal is to not gain weight then you could drink smoothies instead of a meal and not between you meals. I know that this really sucks and I also don't want that to be true because I could honestly drink smoothies the whole day.

Spritzers

Truth to be told I don't know if this is what you call it but I found this term on Wikipedia and if this is wrong then you will probably get what I mean by reading my explanation. Oh and also feel free to tell me what you call these drinks in the comments below.
Maybe it's just a german thing but in many restaurants you can order these drinks. It's basically juice mixed with spakling water. Again you can make a variety of drinks on this principle. Just take whatever juice you prefer and pour some spakling water over it. I personally love to do this with apple or passion fruit. with this drink you have both, the fruity flavor but also the sparkle that is coming from the water. All in all I find these spritzers extremely great for the summertime and really refreshing.

I hope that you enjoyed reading and that I maybe gave you some ideas on what to drink on these hot summerdays. Make sure to tell me your opinions in the comments.
Also I would like to do a post on my favourite teas, so tell me if you would like to read something about fair traded and natural tea.

As always I will talk to you soon,

Norina xx

Drifting apart

Hello beautiful people,
yesterday was my last day of school for six weeks, which means that there is only one year of school left for me. This got me thinking.

When this last year is over, who will still be here with me?
Who will I still be able to call a friend?

Drifting apart from your friends does not only happen after your last year in school or after you move away. You can never be sure that it doesn't happen too you right now. I've experienced this situation myself as I think most of you have, but just let me tell you: Let it happen. Don't try too hard to hold this friendship. If you don't have the same interests anymore and you can't hold a real conversation, that both of you enjoy then it doesn't really have a sense to try and keep this friendship.

There is nothing wrong with letting go. Even though it might hurt it is the best for both of you. You will always meet new people and you will find new friends that share your interests and opinions. Also it could always be that the two of you find your way back to each other.

Drifting apart after graduating is a little different. You already know that you will probably loose some of the friends you have now. I know that I won't be able to keep all my friends. On the one hand it makes me sad but on the other hand it makes me stronger. If you are in the same situation then don't be sad that you are for sure going to loose some friends. You should try to make the most of it. Don't you want to tell your children that you had the most amazing time in school with your friends. Don't try to close up and be a loner because you think that if you don't have friends it won't hurt loosing them. Personally I think it will hurt more to be alone than to drift apart from your friends.

I don't know who I will be friends with all my live and whom I will only be in contact with for a few years. But this is what makes friendship exciting. You don't know how or when it will end. You have the chance to find someone that will always be by your side and that will support you your whole life.

Friendship is a gift and we should see it as one of the best things the world gave to us. Use your time. Spend it with your friends and don't be alone. It doesn't matter that you will maybe loose them one day. What is important is the time you spend together, so make the most of it.

I really hope you understand what I said and that you share my opinion. Don't be sad and just use the time that is left for you to have a great time with your friends. Because that is what you'll remember when your older.

Now that I got this off of my chest I wish all of you a great weekend.
I will talk to you soon,

Norina xx

Why smartphones (sometimes) disgust me

Picture

Hello beautiful people.
Well for today's post I thought I would talk about a topic which I have discussed with some friends and let me say not just one time. I don't know if you can already think of what I will say in this post and if you think the same but here is my opinion on smartphones.

Okay so to start this post I have to make clear that I really don't hate smartphones in general. It's more the way people use it.
I mean, I see that it is amazing that you can call people wherever you are and  whenever you want. Also I've often used maps because sometimes you just don't know where you are at and such an app can be extremely useful (talking from experience).

But even though smartphones seem to be so useful there is also something I don't like about them. And as I already said this is how people use their phones.
When you are with a friend or even a group of friends, why do you still have to text with another friend. Like, you meet in a café with friend A because you haven't really hung out latley. Suddenly friend B is texting you.
You now have two choices: 1. You text friend B back and start
                                        a conversation with them
                                        or
                                        2. You tell friend B that you are
currently hangin out with friend A
and you will text back later.

I would be really interested in what you would do so be sure to leave a comment.

If you decide to start a conversation with friend B I don't really see the reason in hanging out with someone else. Or you could've just met in the group of three.
Personally I don't like it when my friends are coming over and they are constantly texting someone else. I mean what is the reason behind meeting then anyway. Maybe I am a little paranoid but to me it seems like talking to your other friends is more important to you than talking to me.

Of course there are situations where I totally get that you have to text or call someone, like your parents about when you will come home or things like that. It's also ok for me if you tell the friend sitting next to you who you are texting and what it is about, so that both of you take part in the same conversation.

I can't stand it when I see friends hanging out together but each of them is talking to another friend on the phone. Am I weird? Or do you thiink the same way?

Why can't we talk just like people have always used to?
I'm much to shy but if you would be more confident then I would tell everyone to not use their phone while their in my house, only if it is really needed.
Also I want to say that I am proud of one of my friends. Whenever we are together she puts her mobilephone into her pocket and does not care if someone is texting. When I'm with her I have her attention and I really enjoy to hang out like we used to in primary school when there were no smartphones.

Well this is more or less my opinion on the use of smartphones. Make sure to leave a comment telling me your thoughts about this.

I will talk to you soon,

Norina xx

Do more of what makes you happy (5)

Hello beautiful people.
First of all I am very sorry I haven't posted this week until now. I am very busy at the moment and it is hard to find time to write.
As you probably know by now I post a list of ten things every month that make people happy. For the month of June I asked one of my favorite bloggers if she would like to send me her list. And I'm very happy that she did it. Make sure to check out her blog because she is a great writer (www.ourwolfsong.co.uk). So without any more unnecessary talk from me here is what she sent me:
Hello! I'm Kathryn and I write a mental health & wellbeing blog called 'Our Wolf Song’.

Health and happiness is very important to me, so I really love what Norina is doing on her blog- Thanks for making me a part of it!

10 Things That Make Me Happy:

1. Music:  I can always count on music to boost my mood. No matter what I'm feeling, there's always a song that gets it.

2. Writing: My notebooks are the most important things I own. I have everything in them. All my darkest thoughts, greatest ideas and, of course, half written poetry that isn't quite 'there' yet. I feel like I have many stories to tell and writing everything down just makes me so happy. It's not healthy to bottle things up inside!

3. Free books on iBooks: Who doesn't love freebies? Shopping in bookstores can become expensive quite quickly, so I love browser iBooks for great 'free' reads (usually whilst I'm all cosy in bed). I I've also downloaded stuff I wouldn't normally pick up only to find it's an amazing read!

4. Frankie:  Because of him, my life is happy place full of sunflowers, warm hugs and unwavering support.

5. Nature: We live on such a beautiful planet, I try to appreciate it everyday. I've always found happiness in nature, it grounds me and clears my mind.

6. Fandoms: I am a fangirl. I find great joy in Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.- I'm actually rather obsessed... New seasons are more exciting than Christmas and fandom gossip gets me through each day.

7. Veganism: Of course it makes me happy! After all, it helped me overcome my Eating Disorder. Going Vegan improved my health and my mind. I feel a lot more peaceful, educated and more empowered.

8. Long showers: "Katie! Get out the shower!", is the most used phrase in my household. I can't help it. I sort my life out in the shower. Hot water is soothing and a distraction from daily life. I'm able to think clearly. And, post-shower, my mood is 100% better.

9. Stationery: I'm a hoarder. I hoard stationery: Cute pens, cool notebooks, motivational pencils, animal shaped erasers- you name it, I collect. It's a healthy obsession that serves me well and makes me happy.

10. Wolves: I'm a sucker for anything wolf related. They're such loyal, intelligent animals and I think humans could take a leaf out of their book in terms of supporting one another.

I really want to thank Kathryn so much for sending me this list.
I post these lists every month and I would love to get more of you involved in it.
So if you want me to publish ten things that make you happy or that make you smile then send me an E-mail: nonomue6@gmail.com

I really enjoyed that you liked reading this post and you maybe got inspired to write your own list.

I promise that I will talk to you soon,
Norina xx

I'm walking on sunshine

Hello beautiful people,
If you could see me now you would see girl outside, the sun shining in her face, her eyes are closed. She is enjoying the sunshine and is happy about the summer finally coming. Yep that is mostly me in the past two days.
It's finally summer.
The sun is shining and not just me but (I think) everybody is happy about the warm weather. It seems like this time of the year makes all of us happy for a few days or weeks.
(I mean after a little time most people begin complaining about it being too warm)
I'm currently sitting on the balcony of our holiday flat in Freiburg. Since we had a four day weekend my parents and I decided to take a trip to the Black Forest and there is literally so much nature here. If you want me to do a post on Freiburg and what I did here then please give this post a like or a comment.
Anyways I am really happy that I can finally go outside without wearing thick jackets and boots. It's much better to go on a bike trip when it's warm or to go hiking.
Ok, maybe I always get a little overexcited when it begins to get warmer but I just love the summer. And for me I can say that it is one of the great things that makes me happy.

What about you?
Do you also like the summer?
And does it make you happy?

I will talk to you soon,

Norina xx
